Thanksgiving Races and Trots

Busy weekend for our team runners and walkers.

Montlake had it's first Turkey Trot and Cathy and Michael were there for the inaugural run. Muddy and wet through the Arboretum, but beautiful.

Ann, Cheryl, Chris and Deb had a wet and muddy time too at the Magnuson Trot.
I bet a many more of you were out there trotting in your neighborhood, tell me all about it.

Then on Saturday a few of us had a fabulous time at the Seattle Ghost 1/2 Marathon. There was a wonderful rainbow at the start to send us on our way. We started out dry, but the rain came along about 1/2 way through. It wasn't too cold and no wind to speak of though.
1/2 Ghosters: Ann, Betty, Cheryl, Jen, Jenn, June, Linda, Pat, Susanna

Today was the Seattle 1/2 Marathon, the racers had some comfortable, cool temps and no rain, just a little wind to help them along.
Congrats to Seattle racers: Carrie, Cris, Judy, and Max

Squak Mtn Hike and Race Taper Time

Great hike today at Squak Mtn. What a wonderful place to spend the day in a typical northwest forest full of moss, ferns and mushrooms. It was perfect hiking weather with just a spit or two of rain between the sun breaks. Other than seeing two trail runners, we had the park to ourselves!!!

Races coming up next weekend. The Seattle Ghost on Saturday and the Seattle marathon on Sunday. We are race ready for sure. Tomorrow's last long run and potluck will be a fun end to this training session.

Rainbow Lake on a Sunny Day

Today was the most wonderful day for a hike! Even though it was a little cool in the shade, the sun came through to warm us up.  Rainbow Lake was our destination, but Olallie Lake with Mt Rainier in the background was a most amazing sight! Lots of waterfalls along the way and fast moving streams to cross on this trail.
