Summer in Seattle (not)

Congratulations to all the Seattle RNR finishers!!!

Liz and Arturo whizzed through the full marathon.

Anneke, Barb S, Carolyn, Jackie, Jen, John, Judy, Kelsey, Kerry, Laura, Rhonda, Sarah, Scott, Sharon, Terry and Sandy all enjoyed the 1/2 marathon course. (Anneke once again got high honors and her name in the Seattle Times! Jackie and Kelsey were first time 1/2 marathon finishers!!)

It was a bit humid, but no rain for the racers and many said the new course was a little less hilly, but some were bored on Rainier Ave......

Now on to summer activities. Sunday run/walk group has a break until August 19th. The 1/2 ironman and bike group are still going strong and luckily have missed the rain the last couple of weeks.

The Tuesday and Thursday run/walks groups continue all year as does the Tuesday strength group. Need any during the week motivation, come check out a workout and have some fun! Write me for more info.

Even though it is June and it looks like summer, it is still cool and wet. Dang, hard go for the start of the triathlon season.

Busy Week

It's been a busy week! Starting last Saturday, Ericka had a PR in the Newport full Marathon, then on Sunday Lisa and Helen ran in the San Diego RNR 1/2 Marathon and Betty, Susanna, Eileen and John completed the North Olympic Discovery 1/2 Marathon!! Way to go team- CONGRATULATIONS to all.

The during the week run, strength and bike groups trudged through the rain, but in Seattle rain does not keep athletes down.

And Saturday was the 1/2 ironman training group's first "mini tri". Actually there was nothing mini about it and the 49 degree air temperature and 59 degree water temperature was enough to wake everyone up.....
