1/2 Marathon Spring Season Starts

You can always tell spring is in the air when the 1/2 Marathon season starts.

Least weekend: Meghan raced the Washington DC Rock N Roll, prepping for her full marathon coming up, she secured her marathon pace!! Also last weekend Cheryl was on the completely other side of the States racing in the Hilo International 1/2 Marathon on the Big Island of Hawaii.

This weekend: Ericka raced all uphill in the Zion 1/2 Marathon!! While Anneke,  Annekmieke and Kris left skid marks on the Mercer Island 1/2 Marathon right here in our backyard.

Then John, Eileen and Joan once again took the Columbia Building stair challenge at the Big Climb (69 floors - 1311 steps) in downtown Seattle!!!!

Training is winding down for our Paris Marathon runners, while the May marathoner miles are still climbing. And at the same time our STP bike riders are getting their bike legs and butts ready for that big challenge.

March rain brings flowers

Okay this has been a wet March. We are happy we don't have a drought and happy we don't have snow and freezing temperatures. But if you are caught in the downpours on your long bike ride, hmm like on Saturday, it is not as much fun as it was before the rain started. But we are tough and handled the wet roads and cold hands nicely. Go team.

Congratulations to some 1/2 marathon finishers yesterday. 'becca and Sherri had a dry time in Sammamish. Sherri run away with a PR!

Here are some photos of bunny rabbits at Woodland Park on Thursday, Flowers at Green Lake and more drowned runners from last Tuesday at Discovery Park. Oh and some FAST ladies in the fast car.....

Lord Hill Hike, Seattle Bike Expo and other Seattle sights

It's been a busy few weeks.
At the Birch Bay Marathon Seujan came away with 3rd place overall for women in the full marathon, Ann and Carrie did well in the 1/2 marathon.
'becca had a fun 1/2 marathon in Sedro Wooley that same weekend.

Alyson ran in the snow at the Smelt 10 km in La Conner.

Pamela rocked with a PR in the Rome to Ostia 1/2 Marathon in Italy today!!!
Liz had fun at the Seattle Hot Chocolate 15km too.

The hike in Lord Hill Regional Park was awesome, check out the photos below. There was snow before we started and just as we finished, but other than that the whole hike was dry and comfy. The muddy trails made us appreciate our water proof boots and wool socks.

The Seattle Bike Expo was packed with deals, cool new things and of course my little chats about the 30 year anniversary of Estelle and my cross country tandem record. Thank you to Outdoors NW for pulling it together. Read the article in NW Cyclist at: 30th Anniversary of Women's Tandem Record

A few other pictures including: drowned rats in the Tuesday run group, an eagle in a tree-look in the middle of the photo, end of race and the expo.
