3rd semi-annual Donut Challenge

We did it again. We carried donuts: up stairs, up hills, on our back for push-ups, climbing ropes, swinging on swings and squatting with them and yes we got to eat them at the end along with some latke, applesauce, apricots and satsumas. YUM!!

End of the Year

Just a couple of events left this year, next weekend is the 12K's of Christmas, in case you are looking for a last minute challenge.

Even though it is cold and dark out, it is still a wonderful time to go for a walk or run. Or if you prefer indoors on a treadmill, spin bike or elliptical. The main thing is you are staying active during the holidays. Winter is also a great time to get stronger, work on your leg, upper body and core strength. And of course don't forget rolling and stretching.

Not feeling so motivated? Grab a friend, do your errands on foot or bike and just get out the door, you will feel so much better. HELP Training also offers during the week run/walk groups and a strength class. Write me if you would like more info on times and cost.

Holiday Season has Arrived.

Amazing, Christmas Music already playing the the local Starbucks - before Thanksgiving! In the Seattle area, Thanksgiving means more than just eating and drinking, it is race time for many of us. Only 10 more days for the starting gun to go off. So far we have had amazing training weather and last week there was a wind-free Alki workout - amazing.

Congratulations to Sharon on her New York Marathon finish! And to Lisa, Barb, S, Helen and Liz on their RNR 1/2 Marathon in Savannah, GA. It was a beautiful 65 degrees and a fast course. Helen ran a PR!!!

Seattle is really beautiful (even in the dark and wet)

That's what makes us Seattleites, we actually like the weather that we have. A little dark and wet, no problem, it actually makes us feel good! :)

This Sunday's run/walk was amazing,, all the things we like about the weather, plus the other thing Seattle is famous for - hills!

Fall colors and rain....

Seems like we are getting into the fall/winter pattern: spin classes, cool and wet runs and training for the Seattle Marathon. The redeeming part of all of this is that it is plain ole beautiful out there, yes even in the rain!

Fall races

Busy two weekends for races.

Last Sunday 'becca and Cindy did the full Portland Marathon and Betty, Susanna and Chrissy did the Portland half marathon. It was drizzly weather and a little cool, but good for running! Everyone did splendid and had a fun time.

This Saturday at the Leavenworth Oktoberfest Marathon, Terry ran an awesome race in the full and a whole slew of us finished the 1/2 marathon under sunny skies and beautiful views. Congratulations to
Ann J, Barbara C, Cheryl, Deb F, Helen H, Jenn M, Joan R, Karen D, Lisa D, Lisa J, Lynn-dee, Misha H, Nancy R, and Sara Z.

And today, June M smiled her way around the hilly course of Run for a Soldier 1/2 Marathon in Gig Harbor and Anita B had her hilly 1/2 marathon race in the Poulsbo Marathon.

Next up the Seattle Marathon!!! We are getting ready!
