Rain Doesn't Stop Us

Rain, rain, go away, well not in the northwest, it just makes the tough tougher. As we all know there is no "bad" weather just "bad" clothing and we actually believe that!!

The fall 1/2 marathon season is happening and many of our folks will be racing in the next couple of months, with of course Seattle as the big one. Let's just hope they put the year on the event shirts this time around. You all know that put me in a tizzy last year!!

Hiking in the Clouds

It was a little misty for our hike to Rachel Lake, but that didn't stop us from having a great time in a beautiful mountain area with great hiking buddies. There were many kinds of mushrooms to check out and many waterfalls too - see some of the photos below.

It was our last team hike for the season, but stay tuned for some shorter hikes to keep us in shape during the late fall and winter months.

Winding Down

The hiking and biking groups are winding down for this year as we ramp up with run and walk training during the fall and winter.

There are still races happening though and folks are staying busy.

Last weekend Sandy and Cathy swim in the Park to Park swim, a 1.4 mile event from Matthews Beach to Denny Park in Kirkland.

Gina placed 3rd in her age group at the Lake Sammamish Sprint Triathlon - Congratulations!!

Anna and Cheryl raced the Labor Day 1/2 Marathon in Redmond today. Flat, fast, fun and HOT! Anna whomped the field with 4th in her age group and the 44th woman - wow. Cheryl held her own with 11th place. Yea - go team.

It was great having Cathy come to run group on Sunday, a nice surprise, she has certainly been missed! Miles are starting to ramp up on Sundays, especially for the team for the San Francisco 1/2 Marathon in October. And we continue to enjoy the warm, dry weather, except of course the downpour on Thursday.
